

Out of loyalty, Carl stays with his brother to hold off the Ballas hordes. Upon arriving, Carl sees a deadly shootout taking place, and that Sweet has taken a hit. Remembering his professionalism, however, he first orders Cesar to escort Kendl to safety in case hell breaks loose, and then races over to the underside of the Mulholland Intersection before Sweet and the homies are killed. Suddenly, Carl remembers the shootout at the Mulholland Intersection which Sweet was partaking in, and realizes that Sweet and the rest of the Grove Street Families were lured into a set-up meant to kill the unfortunate leader himself.


However, although he does not see Ryder, Carl does sight Smoke, and concludes that he has betrayed the Families to the Ballas. officer Frank Tenpenny, whose partner, Edward "Eddie" Pulaski then reverses a car out of the garage, which is revealed to be the green Sabre that was used in the drive-by in Grove Street which killed Carl's mother Beverly hardly some time before. Cesar and Carl look ahead, as some Ballas exit a garage, followed by high-ranking Grove Street Families members Lance "Ryder" Wilson and Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris, and finally corrupt C.R.A.S.H. At first, Carl explains he is too busy to meet but Cesar is insistent, so Carl heads to the meeting place under the freeway north of Verdant Bluffs to meet Cesar, who is inside a Bravura with tinted windows. He then orders everyone to get heated, and meet him under the Mulholland Intersection.īefore he can catch up with the Grove Street gangsters and Sweet, however, Carl is sidetracked on the way by a call from Mexican-American Varrios Los Aztecas gang leader Cesar Vialpando, his sister Kendl's boyfriend and newfound acquaintance, who has some important news for him. Sweet also makes good with Carl and calls him his running dog.

The three feuding families of the Grove Street Families have come together to due to Carl's efforts and Sweet decides to finally get back at the Ballas.
